The IR.Tools™ Infrared IR American Flag Patch is manufactured with exclusive SandStorm Technology™ that protects against water, sand, and debris. Unlike standard IR patches, SandStorm Technology uses perfectly formed microprisms built as one seamless layer. Unlike standard issue "honeycomb" infrared patches, IR.Tools™ patches will not peel or fall apart due to this single layer film.
In covert applications, the FIELD patch absorbs white light (ex. from a flashlight) and reflects infrared energy. Therefore, the patch and you remain hidden from the enemy while being visible to friendly forces using night vision. When an illuminator on NVGs or other night vision devices hits the patch, the IR patch will reflect the light, the patch will glow, you and your location are identified. We recommend the Field IR patch for off-base operations.
