Awesome pants

Awesome pants. But I am 6'2"tall 230lbs use size 36 jeans and these are very large on the waist. I think the design is for attaching top... probly. But I will use them anyway lots of room amd venting for the warm temps in the cockpit. I would order size large next time.

My experience with fatigues goes way back

My experience with military fatigues goes way back to the US Navy Fighting CB Greens and USMC M81’s. The experience ends back there in the 1900’s too. Cargo pants in general and military cargo fatigues had it all wrong in my opinion. This is not a comparison nor a cheap shot at M81 ripstop pants. M81’s are still around and some folk just dig their woodland trousers. That is alright with me. I’m short and cargo pants aren’t just short person highlighter, they’re painful to use in my experience of trying to snack while rucking in the suck.

This is a very civilian and positive review of the Massif 2pc FR (fire resistant) Flight suit pants in commercial multicam. I go to the range and hit BLM land with the crew in spells. I’m not abusing my Massif’s. Just tired of being the only guy with chino pants in a sea of camo. I also got tired of jumping when the campfire pops aftaid it’d melt my expensive to me outdoor research pants. The boys were calling em faux-cia yoga pants (FcnY for short). That is funny but hurts. Might as well put em in the fire now. With the Massif’s, you can actually run through fire.
The Massif pants are everything right about bringing gear in your pockets and access. For all the long truck rides. Access while seated or standing and in confined spaces but not if there’s rats. I pack small things I like on me at all times. Extra items such as a pocket knife, lighters, meaty sulfide snack pack, chem-lights on an inside the leg pocket and a small cuts/ burns/ meds first aide kit. Some contents will probably be added with the seasons but the core items will remain. Cargo pants in the truest sense. Well designed and the r&d shows. I plan to wear a long under-layer but they feel fine against the skin too.The zippers are light and feel secure. The small flaps keep the metal zipper from snagging yet the pull tabs provide tactile-blind access to their contents. I’m at the small end of the S/R pant sizing. 5’6” almost 130lbs. 28W. 30L. I got the small reg and currently getting them altered to preserve the zippered flare on the leg. Like the fatigue and basketball warm ups I never knew I wanted. These trousers are in the $300-$400 range at full retail. I paid $30 so, any professional customization will be well worth it. Careful on the flight jacket attachment tabs located on the front two belt loops and the rear middle. Velcro is strong and can frey at the soft loop backing. The pants are light weight in feel. Some parts on the pant are not the strongest in construction so I’m having all the belt loops reinforced, velcro removed and extra belt loops sewn in to the front (belt loops made from fabric from hem alteration). I did buy the jacket but I wear it separately. Also not being reviewed today. That’s all I have to contribute on the fit & function for civilian/ faux tactical use. I wear soft slim burton snowboard pads on the outside to protect the pants and my knees too.

So far as style is concerned, I’m no influencer. I’m also no slouch. I dress well melding the sharp lines of a military past with a big city civilian swagger. Baggy is back in.,Bell bottoms too.The baggy isn’t too baggy and the tactical flight crew pockets disappear into the multicam. The fabric has an almost no iton appeal with a refined fabric touch. The pants look good in my opinion. Also according to the alterations gal. She called em sharp even. I was wearing a new white T and more red than brown Allen Edmond boots. The park city is almost an oxblood leather with white vibram cushion soles. I’m not a camo in public guy, never was. With these trousers I may just have to start wearing em downtown. I was impressed with how the pants feel hanging from my waist. Like a favorite T shirt. The relaxed hip pockets were noticed by the alterations pro right away. I know compliments are part of the fitting game but the Massif flight pants did look the bees knees.

I ordered a second pair while trying on the 1st pair if that says anything about the initial fit and feel.

Thanks for reading,

Beans!

Not a quality issue per se but the XL size pants are ridiculously large. I’m 6’3” 245lb and they are about 6-9” to big in the waist. Meanwhile the XL size top fits very well. It seems massiff sized the set for pair shaped airline pilots.

Just like my Issued Flight Suit pants

These are great the fit well, 38 Waist regular. I'm 6'2'' and the regular are actually on the long side which is not a bad thing so unless your over 6'3 the regular is fine.
