Built on the same frame as the original (OG) FlatPack, the new FlatPack 2.0 maintains its original compact size prefered by many, but now includes updated features previously only available on the FlatPack Plus. This design update will add the following features to those offered with the OG design: a full peel open design, and an interior with full field of velcro, setting the necessary foundation to add FlatPack accessories when needed, allowing the end user to build the pack around their mission or lifestyle
At its core, the new FlatPack 2.0 is still is an assault pack that can go from an almost flat profile when compressed to 600 cubic inches when completely expanded utilzing a unique expandable gusset system.
In its compressed state, the D3 FlatPack 2.0 can run a 1 liter hydration bladder in the main compartment with additional small items like batteries, energy gels and chem lights stored in the dedicated admin chamber. Expanded, the main compartment can fit a fully loaded D3CR™, a helmet or a jacket while the admin can fit electronics and/or small binoculars. The FlatPack features a new chest strap to add stability and comfort while under load.
The FlatPack 2.0 integrates with a D3CR™ or D3CR-H™, replacing the H harness with the pack straps, to create a light reconnaissance, patrol or an EDC worst case scenario rig. The FlatPack will also molle into any PALS based nylon system including plate carriers, assault vests or other packs with external PALs webbing.
Although designed with the Special Operations end user in mind, the D3 FlatPack 2.0 also makes an excellent everyday pack for civilians looking for a very compact carry bag that doesn't scream military. Able to safely transport electronics such as the iPad, MacBook (12") or any laptop or tablet up to 8" x 12", the padded inner chamber can also hold a number of items ranging from books and periodicals to digital cameras.

RECOMMENDED FOR YOU
I love certain Haley Strategic products but much like a lot of their other offerings they took a great idea with the flatpack and screwed up the execution. The size and layout for the flat pack is great for simple storage of essentials on a PC or chest rig. If your looking for a stand alone pack move along, there are better options out there. Also they offer a buckle system called the hitch hiker for temporary attachment but the nylon webbing they provide is trash in my opinion. I used left over tri glides, buckles, and sling material to make my own. Just know that you may need to do some figuring on your own. Also, the material around the outside of the flatpack is like a frickin neon sign when viewed under night vision. I use multicam because of how effective it is at blending with surroundings in my region, especially under nods. For some reason they decided to use material around the zippers that stands out like crazy. Big negative to me but if you dont care about that the aesthetics of the pack are good.
Durable and super multifunctional
I don’t normally do reviews but the Haley Flatpack 2.0 is just what I needed for my Spiritus Mk4 to have a lightweight setup. It also has a total of four straps by the way if you need to attach it to your rig in case you’re wondering, so you don’t need to purchase extra. Two straps that are already connected to the front/backpack straps and two extra for a rig in one of the tiny flatpack compartments.
Another thing I want to add about Offbase in general is that their processing and shipping time for me was amazing! Super quick delivery, took three days total, and I’m very happy I choose to order here. Will definitely be ordering here again when the time comes.
